Beautiful and relevant design
In 2018, the Koorie Heritage Trust presented the ‘Blak Design Matters’ travelling exhibition which was first held at Federation Square in Melbourne. The exhibition showcased contemporary Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander designers from around the country with design disciplines such as interior, landscape and product design, jewellery, fashion and textiles, architecture and town planning.
We were commissioned to create the branding for the exhibition and all relevant marketing communications. Inspiration for the Blak Design Matters branding was taken from the fractal shapes within the Federation Square building itself, which was the original space for the Blak Design Matters exhibition. The triangular shapes are also a cultural expression of South Eastern Aboriginal wood carving styles.
