A culturally sensitive service for victims of crime
The Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) was created by the Victorian Government to acknowledge and provide financial assistance to people affected by violent crime committed in Victoria. The VOCAT Koori List was developed in response to the historical relationship between the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and the criminal justice system.
This design represents VOCAT as the meeting place to acknowledge and provide financial assistance to Koori victims of crime committed in Australia. The design represents three people encircled together representing either primary, secondary or related victims of crime.
Each of the victims express outward radiating lines, an indication they have been affected in some way by violent crime. The neutral coloured elements that intertwine the three victims represent VOCAT providing assistance where required.
