Engaging a deeper sense of learning
Ngarrngga (Taungurung for knowing), is a national partnership project by the University of Melbourne to enhance the teaching of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures and knowledge systems across the education sector. The University of Melbourne required a brand identity for the Ngarrngga program to be featured across all public and internal facing project communications, from promotional materials through to the curriculum resources.
This brand design represents Ngarrngga as a learning tree of knowledge with dotted pathways forming the trunk and branches and seven clusters forming the tree canopy. The seven clusters also symbolise the learning through storytelling, exploration, sharing, reflection, art, research and lived experience.
