Flying high over the community
The City of Monash needed a First Nations visual identity to align with their Integrated Plans including Community Vision, Council Plan and Monash Health and Wellbeing Plan 2021/25. The City is situated on the traditional lands of both the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung and Bunurong peoples, so the design needed to appeal to both Traditional Owners.
This artwork design combines a pictorial and symbolic approach, depicting Bunjil flying high over the City of Monash, keeping a watchful eye on its reconciliation commitments. The larger concentric rings towards the centre represents Monash City Council as a central meeting place for the community to join and partner on the journey towards a more just and inclusive city.
