The Festival of Pacific Arts

Showcasing Oceanic Arts and Culture

The Festival of Pacific Arts is the Pacific’s largest regional cultural gathering, and the world’s largest gathering of Indigenous Pacific cultures. Since 1972, the Festival has brought together the peoples from 27 Pacific Island nations and territories to share their cultures and establish deeper understanding and friendship.

In 2016, Australia sent a delegation of approximately 60 Indigenous and Torres Strait Islander artists to Guam to showcase their work from different contemporary and traditional art practices. We created the branding for the Australian Delegation, which appeared on all promotional materials and social media.

The brand design symbolises a person creatively influenced through traditional and contemporary artistic energies. The inner core represents the gathering to one meeting place and the sharing of stories in the Guam Festival of Pacific Arts. The radiating dot patterning represents and celebrates the richness of culture and diversity within Australia.
