Keeping the wheels in motion

The Department of Social Services required a visual identity for its Carer Gateway products. The design needed to align with the Carer Gateway colour palette of pink, yellow and teal.

This design symbolises the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander aspect of the Carer Gateway as a protective support and culturally safe place for First Nations carers of all ages across urban, regional and remote communities that need advice and ongoing support to help enrich and improve their physical and mental well-being.

The five circular forms represent movement and rotation. The figures represent the support of carers to each other, which is the essence of the Carer Gateway. Overall the visual identity seeks to represent wheels in motion that keep everything together, much the same as carers. The engraved and dot patterning cultural expression symbolises the inclusiveness of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
