Guidelines to encourage best practice
The International Indigenous Design Charter was developed by Deakin University in collaboration with its Institute of Koorie Education (IKE), Indigenous Architecture and Design Victoria (IADV), and the management and executive board of the Design Institute of Australia (DIA) and supported by the International Council of Design (ICoD).
The Charter was created to serve as a living document to guide best practice when working with Indigenous knowledge in commercial design projects. We created the booklet that includes the 10 Charter points as best practice protocols. Each Charter point features an eye-catching image from a First Nations design agency.
