Maroondah City Council

A journey of discovery

The Maroondah City Council commissioned us to create an artwork to be installed within the interior of the Realm Extension, a new development that will be Maroondah City Council’s administrative and civic hub. 

This artwork represents the three main waterways of the Maroondah area: Mullum Mullum Creek, Dandenong Creek and Taralla Creek. Bunjil’s wings span across the three waterways, protecting the waterways, flora and fauna. The artwork portrays a selection of the flora and fauna that would have been abundant throughout the Maroondah region in pre-colonial times. Mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish and flora are portrayed as a journey of discovery and represent the richness of the past in a modern context.
