Supporting the creation of culturally inclusive spaces

In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Melbourne was seeking to help support local businesses by inviting people back into the CBD. One aspect of this work was to change the traffic flow to the little streets of Melbourne (eg. Flinders Lane, Little Collins, Little Bourke and Little Lonsdale Streets) by introducing pedestrian priority shared zones. 

These zones were enriched by pattern artworks to reflect a renewed connection to the natural environment of the city. We created 11 pattern artworks depicting specific flora and fauna that were prevalent in each area during pre-colonial times.
