Connecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voters
The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) developed the Indigenous Electoral Participation Program (IEPP) as part of the Federal Government’s ‘Closing the Gap’ initiative. The IEPP operates Australia-wide in remote, rural and urban areas and the aim of the program is to encourage more Indigenous Australians to enrol to vote and engage with the electoral process.
A brandmark was created to represent the diverse Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across the nation. The use of dots as well as linear patterning represents the different language groups, customs, communities and geographical locations to help achieve balance and inclusivity.
